Training
T. I. P.s stands for Therapeutic Interventions for Practitioners and is a two day workshop designed to build on the Practitioners existing skill set and devlop their ability to use therapeutic interventions when working with
delegates/clients/participants. It is in no way designed to train people as therapists and as such the training is facilitated in a way that the participants are familiar with the tools and techniques offered and will only use them when and if they are comfortable to do so. Therapeutic interventions can take many forms and once learnt and developed can be adapted to suit different environments. The course covers the following elements: - What makes an Intervention Therapeutic?
- When to use therapeutic interventions
- When not to use therapeutic interventions
- Making it safe for Practitioners
- Making it safe for Participants
- Practical examples indoors
- Practical examples outdoors
- Outcomes for clients
The participants will be introduced to ways of using Art, Drama, Meditation, Guided Visulaisation, Solo work, Group work, Music, Metaphor, Relaxation, storytelling and more to encourage clients to explore self-perceptions, what they do, why they do it, what the can change, how to break the cycle, values of who and what is important to them and various issues that arise through the group dynamics and discussions. By the end of the course, participants will design and deliver exercises based on what they have learnt and facilitate their own therapeutic processes with their peers.
