MEET THE TEAM

Will Daniel-Braham
Life Coach, Psychotherapist and Training Consultant

Will was born and bred in the East End of London and has lived there all his life.  Having left school without much of a formal education, he spent 10 years expressing his creativity through performance-based work.  In 1990, Will studied Native American healing and shamanic work both in the UK and the states and in 1993 he was involved with an organisation called Desert Winds. Desert Winds co-facilitate residential retreats for people living with and affected by HIV and AIDS using Native American healing and regression work. In 1995 Will became a trainer with Youth at Risk, a national charity working with Young People and people who work with young people who are 'at risk'. In 1999 Will started training as a Transactional Analysis (TA) psychotherapist and has a private practise at PPUK's Head Office in the East End.  He has been bringing all these attributes together and recently Will has been designing and delivering training programmes for Youth at Risk (UK), The Camelot Foundation, Hi8us films, The Dean School, St Bonaventures School and Young Potential East Midlands.  The training consultancy takes Will throughout the UK and Europe, and in September 2006 he was brought into the nation's homes on Channel 4 television - appearing as Trainer and Life Coach for Youth at Risk in Ballet Changed my Life: Ballet-hoo!

Cara McLoughlin

Trainer

Cara has always worked well with people and has always loved every minute of it. It all started in her friend’s florist when she started working there at the age of thirteen. Cara found she was always more interested in talking to the customers about their lives than about the flowers, which is why today she believes she's so great with people - but she's still unable to make a respectable flower arrangement.

After college, where she studied Drama and Film, Cara went to work at Lansbourne Outdoor Centre as an outdoor activities instructor. After living in a caravan for two years, living in flip flops and teaching sailing, she felt it was time to move on.

Cara then went to work for Newham Social Services specialising in working with adults with learning difficulties. Part of her role as a member of the management team was to move the service from being centre-based to growing and developing to community-based allowing more integration of its users into the community. After the success of this project Cara felt her job was done. She felt that she had found her fundamental calling; she wanted to work on and with people to a greater degree. Cara then began working for the charity Youth at Risk and trained in the area of enrolment and personal development.

Cara has been working with PPUK since 2004 and currently she is the lead trainer for Diversity Training and Mentor Training. She is also a Group Trainer on PPUK Residential Programmes and co-trainer on the issue based Media Workshops, exploring issues such as Bullying, Gun Crime, Gangs, Teenage Pregnancy, Peer Pressure, Careers Advice, Self-Expression and lots more.  Her job allows her to meet, talk and spend time with amazing people and get to know them. Cara feels she has come full circle and has begun to realise her goals.

Richard Harris
Personal Trainer

Richard grew up in Essex and on leaving school spent seven years in the motor trade. It wasn’t until his late teenage years that he developed an interest in health and fitness and began to exercise regularly. He enjoyed the gym environment so much that in 2001 he studied for a diploma in personal training and decided to change careers taking a job as a fitness instructor in one of Esporta’s flagship health clubs. After gaining some experience of fitness programme design and implementation, Richard quickly progressed to a personal training role, looking after a wide range of clients, from individuals looking to improve their general health, and perhaps lose some body fat, to elite athletes and bodybuilders preparing for competition.

In 2002 Richard began studying at London Metropolitan University for a BSc Honours degree in Human Nutrition, as he had realised that for someone to stand the best chance of reaching their health and fitness goals both issues of exercise and nutrition needed to be properly addressed. Having successfully completed his degree Richard is now located in east London where, since the summer (2007), he has been training clients for PPUK. He is enjoying the advantages that come with working with clients on a truly one to one basis and is currently working on building up his client base at our Forest Gate facility.
